Around July of '07 my marriage of 7 years came to an end.. That's a whole unbelievable (literally) blog in itself, but the point is that I've always been intrigued by interesting travels. As a programmer, I work remote and as long as I've got cel and internet connectivity with my wireless broadband card, I'm good to go. Ultimately I would like to backpack through Europe, but first, I'm taking a smaller trek out west to get a little experience with travels of larger magnitude (view my route at the right of this page). This site will be a place for me to chronicle my travels, leave some photos, and jot down any interesting things that happen that I might one day forget.

Utah

Thursday, September 06, 2007 11:13 PM – Arrived at Fremont Indian State Park and found my campground not too long ago.. That was easily the darkest drive I’ve ever done. I figured as much when I saw the sign that read “No services for 106 miles”. They weren’t kidding. Not a gas station, a house, even a light for over 100 miles.. I could see the arm of the Milky Way right outside my driver side window the whole way down – incredible.

The campsite seems very cool based on the drive in, though I can’t see a dang thing now. I’m camped right next to a rustling creek – I’m very interested to see what this looks like tomorrow. When I turn the light out in my tent it’s pitch black – I can’t see my own hand in front of my face. Now that’s a dark sky. Love it.

That's a very cool picture of you.

I'm gonna see if I can sell it on eBay.
